Summer Share 2021: Week 9

August 4 & 6

Have you heard about our water leak?

Check Farmer Christy out on NBC10:

As you can imagine our $15,000 water bill came as quite a surprise. We've had a lot of customers asking how they can help and if we have a GoFundMe that they can contribute to. We do!

If GoFundMe isn't your thing, we would love your support in other ways! Sign up now for your Fall Share, buy someone you care about a Farmstand Card or try some new things at the Farmstand that you usually buy elsewhere.

Speaking of Farmstand Cards...

In an effort to raise funds for the water bill, we are offering an unusual mid-Summer special! Now through August 10th, receive and extra 10% to any cards over $200.

CSA Member Specials this week:

$.50 off Blueberries

Just let the Farmstand staff know you are a member.

Still thinking about one of our add ons, it's not too late, Sign up today!

Pick up is Wednesday or Friday 12 - 6

Welcome to the mid-Summer Mystery Share! Farmer Chris has finally been able to take his trip that he has been talking about all this crazy year - postponed for over a year. This just happens to be my family's last chance this summer to visit colleges and I won't be in wifi until tomorrow night! (This is Jen G - you've probably seen my aspiring college student at the Farmstand) Luckily, we've got Farmer Christy completely in charge this week. But you know what that means, she's doing many people's work! She is still working out the last minute details for this week's share, so we've listed what we know and the rest will be a pleasant surprise. And as always, things may change depending on how harvesting goes today!

In this Week's Mystery Share:

2lbs of Potatoes from Sparrow Arc Farm

Choose 1:

Fennel

Radicchio

Swiss Chard

Tomatoes (still working on the amount...)

1lb of a mix of Cucumbers and Summer Squash

Choose 1:

Beets

Carrots

Onions

And more!

Add Ons:

Country sliced loaf, 2 cuts Beef, Mozzarella, dozen Eggs, Brown Beech Mushrooms

And the Farmstand is Open for any additions to your share.

Summer Shares will not be boxed. Please bring bags and boxes.

See pick up details below.

Sometimes the share may change at the last minute due to availability.

  • Pick up will be located under blue tent, next to the giant white tent where the Farmstand is set up.

  • Your items will be self serve so you can choose between options.

  • Please bring bags and boxes for your items to help us conserve.

  • We will have a board listing the items and the choices in the share.

Add on share items will be located in designated coolers.

  • Please check your name off the list when you pick up.

  • Masking: We are following MA rules, as of 6/7/2021, all fully vaccinated people do not have to wear masks. Unvaccinated people are still advised to wear masks when they are not able to maintain a 6 foot distance from others. We support anyone chooses to wear a mask, no matter their vaccination status. We understand that individuals make masking decisions for various reasons. We hope our customers are understanding of others choices, too.

  • Our staff who are not vaccinated will be wearing masks. Many of our staff are fully vaccinated, but are still wearing masks. Please respect our decision to protect any of our customers who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated or are not able to for health reasons.

  • Please mind your distance from others and staff while we navigate the new rules.

Due to the current public health crisis, all of our plans are fluid. We may have to change this plan if we feel it is not keeping people safe.

Pick up is Wednesday/Friday from 12 - 6

Thank you so much for support!

Looking for a fun way to get your kids engaged? Try Nature Detectives with Ms. Jessica. The children's garden, created for and by the children themselves, will be the foundation of each session. By getting our hands into the garden's soil we will practice being a farmer, uncovering our relationship to the land, food and community that makes up a farm. Ms. Jessica has over 10 years of experience as a Teacher Naturalist for Mass Audubon and currently runs school aged outreach programs through Nature Detectives with Ms. Jessica.
