Help us celebrate Earth Day at our 3rd Annual Earthfest! Local vendors, crafters and family-friendly activities.

If you want to enjoy some serious Brainfood - read Upswing Farmer Brittany's Earth Day Post. Brittany is a colleague, dear friend, and hero of mine. Her post had been percolating for months as she reads the Lorax to her son, Harvey, and reflects on how to change the world. Read It!

Last week we decided to postpone EarthFest to April 27th.  It was really a huge blessing that weather forced us to postpone. There were 101 reasons April 20th was a bad date and we were delighted to be able to attend two lovely family gatherings over the weekend without the hurry and flurry of activity that putting on an event requires.

In the meantime, we have managed to get all of our onion seedlings in the ground. We seeded our next round of direct seeded crops – Arugula, Radishes, Hakurei Turnips, Dill/Cilantro, Baby Bok Choy, and baby kale. So So much more has happened this week! Come and see the results for yourself!

*Self-guided tours are available during the entirety of EarthFest!

ONGOING! 12PM TO 4PM:

Fresh Pizza out of Marty Pearson’s Wood-Fired Oven-on-Wheels. (Hint: they are all plain cheese, but you can tear up some fresh arugula or other salad greens from the farmstand to jazz up your lunch!)Pies are $10 each and are a meal for one, a snack for two, a nibble for four.Maple Syrup Tasting. Sonya Harms, who farmed with Chris at Stearns Farm in Framingham so many moons ago, now owns Harms Family Farm with her husand, Lucas. They have a sugarbush (that’s what you call an area that you harvest maple syrup from) in Colrain, MA. That’s about as close to Vermont maple syrup as you can be while still being officially Massachusetts Maple. Sonya will be offering maple syrup tastings so you can discover your personal maple preferences. She’s a great one to bounce recipe ideas off of, too. Pick up a big jug of syrup to get you going on a long season of pancake Saturday and Sunday mornings!Floral Design – Flower Bar by Only Prettier DesignFlower Crowns and Gorgeous Spring Planters by Laurene Hulbig Floral DesignPotato Sack RacesRun around on Green Grass just because you suddenly see a wide open spaceCrank the Popcorn ShellerPlant a Seed in the greenhouseCompete in the Seedling I.d.
