Cast Iron Chicken Thighs

The perfect sweet-and-savory meal to feed yourself or your family, all shoppable at White Barn Farm, for under $40.00


Ingredients

  • 1 Package Lilac Hedge Chicken Thighs

  • 1 Medium-sized onion

  • Olive Oil

  • 1 Bag Carrots

  • 1 Head Kohlrabi

  • 1 large Sweet Potato

  • 1 head of Garlic

  • Chicken stock





Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (220°C).

  2. Chop veggies + toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and herbs from your spice cabinet.

  3. Heat your cast iron and sear chicken thighs skin-side down until golden + the fat renders.(6-8 minutes per side)

  4. Add veggies right into the pan around the chicken.

  5. Add chicken stock to prevent it from burning

  6. Add in diced root vegetables to the cast-iron skillet

  7. Sauté for 15 minutes, flipping halfway, until softened

  8. Place in oven at 350 Roast for 25–35 minutes, until the squash is soft enough to put a fork through.
