Wow what a month it has been. The fall has been an absolute whirlwind of events, Pumpkintown, fundraisers, birthday parties and oh wait we must not forget the engine that keeps this white barn farm train on the tracks, Growing food for you all.
Enjoy this quick recap of all things autumn at the farm.
We were graced with perfect weather to continue to ripen our tomatoes and improved sweet pepper yield provide such fun colors, shape and diversity at our farmstand. The field crew worked endless this month harvesting for the week and harvesting for winter share crops, the deadline is fast approaching on November 9th. Thank you! Purchase Farm Shares Here!
Pumpkintown, pumpkin wall, pumpkin gym, pumpkin tic tak toe, butternut bowlarama, pumpkin painting were visited in droves. We had some record setting weekends with our community growing, and more and more new people stepping foot on our wonderful space. Enjoying the fall foliage backdrop. Endless compliments of how wonderful and kind our staff flowed through the energy of human interaction. Thank you!
Birthday parties, celebrating 5 years of life with friends and family, fully curated by floral designer Petal by Sabrina. Brought family and friends together under our event tent enjoying our seasonal pizzas done by Chef Shawn at the Kitchen at White Barn Thank you! Looking forward to celebrating more in our farm events spaces.
Fundraiser, Two fundraisers this October for a wonderful hard working organization helping to grow farmers and farm land. Giving back to the community that gives to us will continue to be a pillar of white barn farm. The lovely folks at the Young Farmers Network provide strength, support, guidance, education and overall love for farming and gardening. We had our largest farmer guided field walk to date. Sauerkraut was made, with the sweetest of memories.
Metacomet Land Trust's first annual trail weekend raised over $1000 dollars for an organization that preserves and conserves land for almost 13 towns in our area. We will be working with them moving forward for preservation guidance and stewardship of the woods of White Barn Farm. Thank you, to everyone who showed up, donated, and truly loved conservation efforts.
Harvestween- Our final festival of the season!! Ended with the Pumpkin Pacer, bluegrass music, and an outright celebration of all things white barn farm. A successful Farm to Trail running season has concluded, our community festivals have been put to bed. Thanks to everyone who reads, reacts, and shows up next year we will be back with beer gardens, live music, local vendors, and the Kitchen at White Barn.
Trailsgiving- To my fellow mountain bikers, trail lovers, and fun enthusiasts. You showed up to explore our coveted woods of Wrentham. This group as a whole raised almost $400 just in parking to go back to Metacomet Land Trust! With a great kids ride and women specific ride, it makes me proud as an owner that this space can be a place for learning, exploring and participating in the natural world. Thank you!
White Barn Farm Ultra Marathon- Wowza the men and women who put one foot in front of the other for distances ranging from 12 miles all the way up to 36 miles just filled my heart and soul. Running and raising $500 towards metacomet land trust is out right amazing, and with a bit of tweaking this raise should be bookmarked every year for the adventurous spirit! Thank you!
Finally- the town of Wrentham. The 16 acres of woods and forest behind White Barn Farm that leads to Trout Pond town conservation area is now forever conserved. This conservation will provide public access to the town residents of Wrentham and beyond. We have saved open space through public support, state support, the Metacomet Land Trust and forward thinking land owners that see the importance of the long term health of nature, trails, wetlands, native species, and wildlife. I can't put enough words or emotions to express my endless gratitude for everyone, for you all, for the people who touch White Barn Farm in all their ways, some large, some small, some for a moment, some forever. It's you all that keeps this dream endless.
THANK YOU!!!!
Now lets fill our pantries, bellies, and memories with food from WHITE BARN FARM!!
We are still here.
