Field Crew

Job Description: 

This position is ideal for people who are looking to work on a vegetable farm for the summer/fall season. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and good attention to detail. As a part of the field crew, you will be engaged in various aspects of farm operations including:

• Planting

• Weeding

• Mulching

• Harvesting

• Wash station procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Experience preferred, but not absolutely necessary

• Able to lift 50lbs using proper body mechanics. 

• Capable of standing for long periods of time, and performing tasks in various weather conditions.

• Flexible and easily adaptable to variable tasks that extend to other aspects of the farm.

• Strong attention to detail. 

• Thrives on efficiency and productivity.

• Fast learner with the ability to quickly pick up new techniques.

• Punctuality and preparedness, including proper attire, footwear, and essentials like a water bottle and sunblock.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to work well alone or in a group.

• Positive attitude and composure under pressure.

• Comfortable communicating  your needs.

Schedule: 

Position run from August 19th through November 7th (minimum of 30 hours/week) 

Compensation: 

• Wages start at $15/hour, depending on experience. 

• Receive a weekly CSA Share.

• Generous Employee discount at the Farmstand.

• One WBF t-shirt, then a generous discount on all other WBF swag.

• Paid half hour lunch breaks for shifts over 8 hours.

• Paid vacation/personal time accrues at 1 hr/30 hrs worked and can be used after 90 days from your start date.
