Job Description:
White Barn Farm is seeking a motivated and hard-working individual with exceptional attention to detail, and a sincere interest in plant health and care. As a part of the greenhouse crew, you will be engaged in various aspects of farm operations, including seeding and potting up, managing pests and diseases, maintaining high/low tunnels (including tasks such as planting, pruning, weeding, and harvesting), and other responsibilities essential for ensuring the health and productivity of our plants.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience preferred, but not absolutely necessary
Able to lift 50lbs using proper body mechanics.
Capable of standing for long periods of time, and performing tasks in various weather conditions.
Flexible and easily adaptable to variable tasks that extend to other aspects of the farm.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Thrives on efficiency and productivity.
Fast learner with the ability to quickly pick up new techniques.
Punctuality and preparedness, including proper attire, footwear, and essentials like a water bottle and sunblock.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to work well alone or in a group.
Positive attitude and composure under pressure.
Comfortable communicating your needs.
Schedule:
Training Work Day between March 1-15
Position begins March 18 -August 1, 2024, 35-40 hours/ week
Salary/Benefits:
$15-$16/hour (depending on experience)
