About the Event
We will explore seeds, how they travel, sizes, types, how they sprout, how plants make seeds, sprout and discuss the propagation of plants. What are the benefits to a farmer planting seeds or seedlings? Transplanting trees or saplings. grafting trees? We will discuss the difference between veggies and herbs? There are so many purposes of plants. We will see how WBF starts their seeds in flats and check out the many types of herbs and veggies they grow on their farm. We will get a quick tour of where the produce is washed to be prepped for sale at the farm stand.
We will discuss pollination and the importance that bees play in the success of growing produce. The plan is to play the Bee Game and learn all about the jobs of bees and discover how absolutely amazing these insects are and how crucial they are in the success of farming.
