Intro to Backyard Farming w/Ms. Lynn - AM

While touring White Barn Farm, we will discuss different types of farms, the history of this particular farm and compare and contrast this model to others that also include livestock. organic vs commercial farming. We will tour the behind the scenes building of White Barn Farm and take a look into what really goes into running such a fantastic business model. We will tour high tunnels, green house, root cellar, investigate the compost piles, there will be seeds to transplant and seeds to investigate and plant.

We will ponder......if the student was in charge of all of the land on this farm, what would they do with it. Would they grow veggies? raise enough for their family? enough to sell? Have livestock? for pets or meat etc?
