Sauteed Cabbage and Apples

2 Tbsp. Ghee or Butter

1 medium onion, sliced

6 cups of finely sliced cabbage

1 medium unpeeled apple, cut into thin slices

1 Tbsp. maple syrup

1 tsp. fresh summer savory, minced

Salt and pepper to taste Heat butter or ghee in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add onions and saute until soft.  Add cabbage and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 or 6 minutes or until tender.  Add apples, savory, maple syrup, and pepper.  Cook apples until they are tender, about 2 minutes.  Excellent with pork or pork brats!
