Pick up details

  • How do I know which pick-up day I am assigned?
Upon our receipt of your deposit, we will send you an email confirming your membership and assigned pick-up day.
  • What if my preferred pick-up day is not available?
If your chosen pick-up day is full, you will be contacted to see if the alternate pick-up day is acceptable.  Your position on the first-come first-served list will be held. Your check will be returned if we cannot accomodate you.
  • When is the first pick up day?
You will be notified by email one week before the first pick-up.  We expect this to be in the last week of May or the first weeks of June.
  • What if I cannot make it to a pick-up day?
You are more than welcome to send a friend or family member in your place.
Please remind them to follow proper pick-up etiquette and check your name off the list.
  •  What if I forget to pick-up my share?
Sorry, we can only accept pick-ups during the stated pick-up days and hours.  We are connected with food donation outlets that will graciously accept your forgotten share.
  • Can I get half of a share or split my share?

We have decided not to complicate our distribution system by offering half shares.  You are welcome to find someone who wants to split your share with you, but we ask that you deal with the logistics at your own site, and remind you that our shares are not designed to be split (you may need to actually use a knife to divide a cabbage, for example). One simple way to split a share is to alternate pick-up weeks.

There has been such an overwhelming interest in half-shares that we are keeping a list of those interested in splitting a share so we can link these people up.  Send us an email if you want us to share your email with others on the list.

  •  What if there is something in my share I know I won't use?

We will have a box for swapping at the pick-up site.  You can leave behind something you don't care for and perhaps pick up a treasure that someone else has left behind.
