Summer Share, Week #10

Posted 8/13/2018 12:53pm by Christy and Chris Kantlehner.

Hi All,

I am writing this from marching band camp in Maine! I'm here chaperoning my boys while they get ready for the upcoming competition season. One of the things that I love about coming to camp is that all of the meals are cooked by the camp staff. I have 21 meals in a row made without me thinking about who likes what and when was the last time we had hamburgers! And those of you who cook for children will love the fact that the kids are so hungry they never complain about what's on offer. Imagine that! But what I am missing is good produce. Unfortunately at camp we are not getting fresh, local produce, but you are! This week's share is making me especially sad that I'm missing it! I'm missing the week with cantaloupe and watermelon!!!

This week's share:

  • 3 lbs tomatoes
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cantaloupe
  • 1 watermelon
  • 2 lbs mixed peppers and eggplant
  • 1 lbs mixed cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, onions
  • As always, help us with greening the planet, please bring your bags/boxes with you to the farmstand.

Pick up is Tues, Wed or Thurs (which ever you've signed up for) under the tent any time between 10 am and 6 pm. On Tuesday, we will have the Jordan Brothers Seafood truck available. We will have all the other goodies you depend upon us for: bread, eggs, pasture raised meat, cheese, tortillas, beans, and honey. Try something new this week!

See you at the Farm!
