How's it going my dedicated farm stand supporters? Is spring here yet? not sure, But we got you covered with some great offerings this week.  

The Virtual Market is OPEN and ready for you to place your orders! Even if you don't pre order for friday you are always welcome at the barn Friday 12-6.  We love seeing all of the familiar faces that we haven't seen all winter.

Our friends at Neighborhood Farm in Weston, MA have provided us with some extra goodies this week: Purple Top Turnips, Golden Beets, and Watermelon Radish.  Pat's Pastured Ground Pork and Ground Beef are back in stock.  I see meatballs and dumplings in your future.  We have added a couple of awesome cheese spreads: Adelisca Lavender Honey and Narragansett Creamery Garlic and Herb.  I'm loving both of these right now they are perfect for veggie slices (carrots, watermelon radish), crackers, bread, and bagels.


Folks, a healthy lifestyle includes greens, and we have some great greens for you! White Barn Farm SPINACH, Common Acre Farm MICRO GREENS, and Zeigler Market Garden SWISS CHARD (grown by WBF alum, Zach Zeigler, at his new farm in Norfolk).  Christy and I have been in greens heaven having them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  


Yes folks we have plants for sale this week.  It's not too early to fill your garden with some of these great perennial plants.  Our first plants of the season will bring you joy for months and probably years to come.

We will also be selling pint bottles of Neptune's Harvest Fish & Kelp emulsion for your foliar feeding needs.  Great to give your plants a kick start after this long winter.

These are all great ways to support the farm.  We are looking to purchase three more caterpillar tunnels this year.  This will provide us with the means to produce earlier and later crops to fill your CSA shares.  This investment is always appreciated and you get to see your dollars do REAL work for the farm.  Thanks in Advance.

EARTHFEST 2018 - save the date! Sunday, April 22, 2018

2nd annual EARTHFEST at White Barn Farm will be held on Earth Day: Sunday, April 22nd.  This event is not to be missed!  It is part fundraiser for the farm, part practical education series, and 100% good clean fun! We will have our earliest seedlings, Vermont Compost products, and spring vegetables for sale. There will be face painting, plant-a-seed station, seed i.d. challenge, popcorn shelling and popping, beekeeping talk and demo, mushroom log inoculation, upcycled clothing for sale and a craft to make, Compost Tea demo, Treehouse Farms Petting Zoo, Fairmount Fruit Farm, Mike's Micros, and plenty more!  Still working out some more details. EarthFest should be a blast for all ages. Parking will be $10 and include 5 tickets for activities. In honor of energy efficiency, Walkers and Bikers get 5 tickets free! Additional tickets are $2 each. Come celebrate the EARTH, the Farm, and our wonderful community!

The lovely farmer, earth mother, and mentor, Kathy Huckins, is offering her gardening course again this season at her home (complete with gardens and greenhouse) in Northboro, MA.

HOW TO GROW A GARDEN, a season-long course for beginners, will meet the third Saturday of each month.  HOW TO KEEP A GARDEN, an in-depth course for the seasoned gardener, will meet the third Sunday of each month.  These 6 month sessions starting in April and ending in September run from 9:30 to 12:30 at our gardens and greenhouse.  The first part of each session will be spent around the table, discussing garden concerns and focusing on the topics for that month.  Then we'll be in the garden, applying what we have learned.  These comprehensive courses will give participants the knowledge and tools necessary to grow their own garden, eat their own food and share it with friends.  Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Jordan Brothers Seafood at the barn on Friday

Our Favorite Fish Monger will be set up at the barn Friday from 2-6.  Jordan Bros. always has the best selection of fresh seafood. You won't be disappointed!
